The grant supported B.K.Mariappa’s Charities to own, build and run a free, shared stay and boarding for girls from rural Karnataka pursuing higher education in Bengaluru. The availability of such a safe, secure accommodation facility helped these girls to not give up on their dreams of education and instead make the move to the city to study further.
The grant also supported upgradation of infrastructure facilities in existing hostels for boys.
