Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA) is an NGO that runs five independent shelters across Bengaluru. Each of their facilities addresses a critical aspect of animal welfare – Animal Birth Control, Trauma and Rescue, Adoption and Fostering, Geriatric Care, Large Animal Rehabilitation, and a fully-equipped pet care clinic.
Only 51% of Bengaluru’s 3,00,000+ stray dogs have been neutered.
How we support them
Ashraya Hastha Trust collaborated with CUPA to establish a much-needed animal birth control center outside Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s jurisdiction in Sarjapur. The grant also supported 500 spaying and neutering surgeries. Under this program, Ashraya Hastha Trust and CUPA provide essential care to dogs by picking them up, sterilising, and vaccinating them against rabies. The aim is to improve their lives while also ensuring the safety of the larger community.
