Our Vision
To be a change agent and partner in building an inclusive, equitable and sustainable world for people, animals, and nature.

Our story

Ashraya Hastha Trust is a charitable foundation that advances ideas and supports organisations to promote a better, more equal world. For 20+ years, we have supported efforts to advance healthcare and education for all, preserve the environment, strengthen opportunities for livelihoods, champion animal welfare, and make philanthropy more effective to better serve historically marginalised communities.

The foundation was established in 2000 by Major S. Nanjundiah and his family, K. Dinesh, Asha Dinesh, Divya Dinesh and Deeksha Dinesh to help India’s rural poor. It has, since, awarded over ₹86.3 crore in grants to organisations who are promoting dignity, coexistence and wellbeing of people, animals, and planet. Our philanthropic approach and our core areas of grantmaking remain connected to the principles and values of our founders.
